About Angie
I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A place where its people are almost as rugged and varied as its shorelines. My home is six miles from my childhood home.
While I ran away several times over the years, the call of this still slightly wild place always drew me back. And so I have built a life, raised a family, and fostered a marriage in this place I call Home.
Life has taken on several manifestations from here: I spent over a decade as the director of operations for a mid-size destination resort. I’ve been involved in several community non-profit organizations including, most recently serving as the executive director of a regional performing arts center. Alongside my husband, we have taken on a handful of entrepreneurial enterprises and found Joy in the challenges of life!
Our home is a restored 1890’s farmhouse set in the middle of its old fields which the wilderness is quickly reclaiming. This land gave us the abundance to successfully homeschool our two daughters and to care for our foster-son. It has also helped us raise puppies, kittens, chickens, and horses - all shared with a plethora of wildlife. It now serves as a retreat for many friends and family - including our three grandlittles.
Woods walks are part of the daily routine and keep me intune with the natural rhythms of the world beyond our cultural concerns and inspire metaphoric reflections on being human.
Living off the beaten path provides a unique pace from which to interact with the rest of the world.
The reward has been a clear call to move closer and closer to the person I was created to be!
I love crowded tables, solitude, simple luxuries, and snow, thrifting and restoring bargain treasures. I believe life is sweeter when shared with dogs, in close relationship with the natural world, and immersed in honest conversation with good company.
I once took the KOLBE survey of drives and strengths. The comments on my results said, “May want to break the system and create a new one.” This may be exactly why I fell in love with coaching!
